PBY Catalina crew rescues Brigadier General Nathan T. Wining after the ditching of B-17E Flying Fortress 41-2403

Twining is carried ashore at a South Pacific base. Twining, commanding general of the 13th Air Force and 14 others spent six nights and five days on two life rafts after their plane was forced down when it ran out of gas while on a combat mission"
