Burma: On Arakan front, Ind 123d Brig unsuccessfully attacks Rathedaung.
SOUTH PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS (Thirteenth Air Force) P-39s, P-38s and P-40s, along with Navy and Marine aircraft,
attack Munda Airfield.
SOUTHWEST PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS (Fifth Air Force) A-20s continue to strike along the Mubo-Komiatum Track. B-25s
bomb Dobo on Wamar. B-17s and B-24s attack Gasmata Airfield, Simpson Harbor, the Cape Gazelle area and Cape Gloucester Airfield.
RAAF: Wirraway A20-504 force lands at Wau Airfield.
U.S. Army: On Guadalcanal, 147th Infantry Regiment establishes line extending south from Tassafaronga Point and patrols to Umasani River. 2d Bn, 132d Inf, patrols northward toward Cape Esperance as far as Kamimbo Bay.
Australian Army: After heavy artillery preparation, Kanga Force counterattacks from Wau and makes steady progress driving the Japanese back to Mubo.
U.S. Navy: USS Tunny (SS-282) damages Japanese army transport No.1 Shinto Maru in the South China Sea, 22°03'N, 114°23'E.
