Intelligence Report No. 14 - Supplement
Interrogation Report on AMERICAN airman
GO Force HQ

This man [Major Jack W. Bleasdale] was in the RABAUL raid. The airplane [B-17F "San Antonio Rose" 41-24458] was attacked by our Amry fighters and the port engine was wrecked. The airplane flew off to the south, losing altitude as it went. In the neighborhood of the mountain peaks north of WIDE Bay he sensed his danger and parachuted to earth. After this he wandered in the mountains for 20 days, discovered a native dwelling and hid there to recuperate. On the statement of natives that there was an ENGLISH missionary at WIDE Bay, he headed in that direction and on the way was taken prisoner by members of a Naval lookout post at ZUNGEN.

A Capt [Captain Benton H. Daniel] taken prisoner at the same time as this man was sent under guard to KAVIENG at request of the Navy.
