B-17E "Frank Buck" 41-2659 nickname on the right side of the nose
The nickname "Frank Buck" was painted in white in a cursive outline with a single quotation mark around the name. Above the "k B" is a scoreboard with five Japanese rising sun flags. Three windows are visible with a gun socket in the forward window. The nose is painted olive drab.
