Built by Douglas as a B-18A, constructors number 2559. Assigned to the 11th Air Force, 28th Bombardment Group, 73rd Bombardment Squadron. No known nose art or nickname. Number 9 painted on the nose, lower wing and tail.

On February 18, 1941 took off from McChord Field piloted by Lt. Schneider and Lt. Obrien on a flight that arrived at Elmendorf Field arriving the next day.

Operated from Alaska during 1941-1942.
