On the right side of the nose is the nickname "Yanks from Hell" with "Maxine" below the fuselage window and "Charlene" painted to the rear of the nose. Below the co-pilot window is a scoreboard with bomb markings indicating bombing missions flown including three silhouettes of ships claimed as sunk. Below the nose is an under-nose yagi radar antenna. Inside the nose the Norden bombsight is under a canvas cover. Four .30 caliber machine guns are in nose sockets.
