On May 1, 1943 this crew was aboard B-24D Liberator pilot Kavanagh and was damaged by enemy fighters and force landed northeast of Bassien (Pathein) in Burma (Myanmar).
The fates of the crew were: Jack Redmon, Joseph C. Kellner Jr. and Norman Dohn were Killed In Action (KIA), Robert Kavanagh, Edward R. Bodell, John E. Lavery died in captivity as Prisoners Of War (POW) at Rangoon Prison (Rangoon Central. Liberated were Kenneth P. Moxley and Hubert R. Garrett from Rangoon Prison (Rangoon Central Prison) on May 2, 1945.
