Aircraft History Built by Consolidated at San Diego. Delivered to the U.S. Army. Delivered from the 2nd Sea Search Attack Squadron as Project Number 96189-R. On October 1, 1943 ferried overseas by pilot Lt Col Edward W. Scott departing the United States via Hickam Field to Australia then to 7 Mile Drome near Port Moresby arriving on October 21, 1943. Wartime History Assigned to the 43rd Bombardment Group, 63rd Bombardment Squadron. Nicknamed "Lady Luck" in cursive with the nose art of a woman riding a harnessed Japanese snake character on both the left and right sides of the nose.
