Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated at Fort Worth, Texas as B-24J-85-CF Liberator. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24J-85-CF Liberator serial number 44-44111. Ferried overseas to China Burma India (CBI).

Wartime History
Assigned to the Royal Air Force (RAF) as Liberator KH250. Assigned to No. 355 Squadron with fuselage code H. No known nickname or nose art.

Mission History
On May 17, 1945 took off on a mission. Over Port Blair in the Andaman Islands in India shot down by anti-aircraft fire.

Fates of the Crew
F/Sgt Wynne bailed out of the aircraft and was taken prisoner by the Japanese. He died on South Andaman Island on August 17, 1945, and is now buried at the Kirkee War Cemetery.

Memorials
Nine members of the crew were officially declared dead the day of the mission. The nine are memorialized at Kranji War Cemetery on the Singapore Memorial. Totham, Rumsey-Williams, Campbell and Morgan on column 448. Johnson on column 449. McDowall, McPherson, Emerson and Emerson on column 450. Benfell on column 451.

Wynee was officially declared dead on August 17, 1945. After his remains were recovered, he was permanently buried at Kirkee War Cemetery (Khadki) in India at grave 3. F. 5
