Aircraft History
Built by North American Aviation (NAA). Constructor Number 87-7949. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-25D Mitchell serial number 41-29784. Converted to a TB-25D Mitchell.

Postwar
During 1948, sold to Luis M. Borda. Next, sold to J. Bertin Terrel on August 9, 1948 then Continental Oil Co. during February 1949 and first registered as registered as NL5078N.

In May 1953, purchased by Timken Roller Bearing Co. and registered as N122B. During December 1953, converted into a executive aircraft by AiResearch modifying the nose, door, wingtip tanks and upgraded systems.

In 1964 purchased by Fred Clausen. Then during July 1966 to Raw & William Johnson then Continental Aviation Co. in April 1968.

Then in 1968 to Westernair until sold to Harlow L. Jones in July 1970 until 1972 to Lucille Kempton and registered as N2DD in July 1976 then N2XD during February 1979 until donated.

Today
On April 29, 1981 arrived at the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Since the early 1980s, this aircraft is on static display in the markings of "Furtle Turtle" with the nose art of a turtle wearing flying googles and a red scarf atop a white cloud. During late 2017 into 2018 restored by the South Carolina Historical Aviation Foundation and painted in the markings of B-25B "Ruptured Duck" 40-2261 flown on the April 18, 1942 "Doolittle Raid".
