Aircraft History Built by North American Aviation (NAA). Constructors Number 87-8241. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-25D-5 Mitchell serial number 41-30076. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 345th Bombardment Group, 501st Bombardment Squadron. Nicknamed "The Jaded Saint" in capital letters on the left side of the nose with a scoreboard below the cockpit windows with three rows of bomb markings indicating missions flown (25+25+11). Also three aircraft silhouettes indicating aircraft claimed as shot down. The tail had a horizontal white stripe above the serial number. In total, this B-25 flew at least 61 combat missions.
