Lt General George C. Kenney presents SSgt Harry W. Anderson the Air Medal at 17 Mile Drome near Port Moresby
U.S. Army caption: "SSgt Harry W. Anderson of Aspermont, Texas being awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement by Lt. General George C. Kenney, at a ceremony somewhere in New Guinea."
Later, on August 5, 1943 Hugh W. Anderson was a radio operator aboard B-25D "Elusive Lizzie / Miss America" 41-30118 ditched August 5, 1943. He was taken Prisoner Of War (POW) and execured on August 31, 1943.
