F/O John D. Blain wearing flight gear
On September 2, 1943 pilot B-25D Mitchell 41-30319 on a low level strike against Japanese ships off Wewak and went Missing In Action (MIA). In fact, he ditched off Kairiru Island and became a Prisoner Of War (POW) executed three days later on September 5, 1943 at St. John's Mission (Barakam).
