Aircraft History Built by North American Aviation (NAA). Constructors Number 90-11922. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-25C-5 Mitchell Serial Number 42-53435. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific the South Pacific (SoPAC). Wartime History Assigned to the 13th Air Force (13th AF), 42nd Bombardment Group (42nd BG) "The Crusaders", 69th Bombardment Squadron (69th BS). No known nickname or nose art. On March 11, 1943 while parked at Tontouta Airfield on New Caledonia the right wing was damaged when B-26B 41-17569 suffered a tire blow out during take off then swerved and the right wing hit the right right wing of this bomber, damaging both bombers.
