Aircraft History Built by Boeing. Constructors Number 11440. Assigned to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-29A-55-BN Superfortress serial number 44-61963. On August 25, 1951 delivered to the Royal Air Force (RAF) as Washington B.1 serial number WW354. On December 12, 1952 arrived in Australia and delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Washington serial Number A76-2 was assigned to the aircraft, though it was never applied to the airframe. Assigned to the Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU) where it was used for testing and trials. On September 5, 1956 struck off charge. On January 18, 1957 sold for scrap. During October 1957 scrapped at Edinburgh Airfield in South Australia.
