Aircraft History
Built by Bristol in the United Kingdom. Assigned Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number T4971. Disassembled and shipped from the United Kingdom on March 2, 1942 overseas to Australia.

Wartime History
Assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Beaufighter serial number A19-27. On May 4, 1942 assigned to 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On November 3, 1942 assigned to 5 Operational Training Unit (5 OTU).

On January 31, 1943 the right landing gear leg collapsed while landing and was damaged. On February 16, 1943 assigned to 5 Air Depot (5 AD) for repairs.

On April 25, 1943 assigned to No. 30 Squadron with fuselage code H. This plane had two nicknames, one on each side of the nose. On the left side of the nose was the nickname "Time Gentlemen Please" with the nose art of a men holding raised beer glasses in the style of a family crest. On the right side of the nose was the nickname "Pandemonium" in white block letters without any nose art.

Mission History
On June 7, 1943 took off from 5 Mile Drome (Ward) near Port Moresby piloted by S/Ldr William T. M. Boulton with passengers S/Ldr James G. Emerton and S/Ldr James A. Hepburn on a flight and suffered a hydraulic system failure. Returning, this Beaufighter force landed with the landing gear retracted at 5 Mile Drome (Ward) bending both propellers and damaging the plane. Afterwards, photographed by Norman Brown.

Wreckage
On June 11, 1943 , assigned to 15 Aircraft Repair Depot (15 ARD). On May 3, 1944 to 5 Air Depot (5 AD).On July 1, 1944 conversion to components was approved and afterwards broken up.
