Built by Douglas. Constructors Number 9566. On May 20, 1943 delivered to the U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as .C-47A-30-DL Dakota serial number 42-32704. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia.
On July 16, 1943 assigned to the 5th Air Force, 433rd Troop Carrier Group, 66th Troop Carrier Squadron in Brisbane.
On October 12, 1944 took off on a mission and lost in the Torres Strait off Thursday Island at approximately Lat 10.22 Long 143.17.
Crashed onto a sand bank in the Torres Strait.
