Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructor Number 26640. Delivered to the U.S. Army AIr Force (USAAF) as C-47B-15-DK Skytrain serial number 43-49379. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History During December 1944, delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as C-47B Dakota serial number A65-64. Australian call sign VH-CUU. This aircraft served with a paratrooper training unit at Tocumwal Airfield. Postwar Delivered to the Air Navigation School, East Sale. During December 1979, withdrawn from service. Stored at RAAF Base Wagga until it was moved to Tocumwal Airfield and placed under restoration. Display The aircraft has been placed on static display on poles outside Club Mulwala (Mulwala RSL Club) at Mulwala, NSW.
