Aircraft History Built by Aichi during the middle of October 1942. Uncoded serial number 29. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 99 Dive Bomber Ku Ku Kamba (Kanbaku) / D3A2 Model 22 Val manufacture number 3029. Wartime History Assigned to the 582 Kōkūtai (582 Air Group). Tail code T2-222. Wartime History This Val was abandoned at Munda Airfield. Wreckage In early August 1943 captured by the U.S. Army at Munda Airfield. Afterwards, evaluated by U.S. intelligence that noted manufacture number 3029 and tail code T2-222. Ultimate fate unknown possibly abandoned at the airfield or scrapped.
