Aircraft History Built by Aichi at Watanabe Iron Works, estimated date of assembly November 10, 1942. True serial number 116. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 0 Reconnaissance Seaplane/ E13A1 Reisen Shiki Sui Tei (Jake) manufacture number 4116. Wartime History Assigned to an unknown Kōkūtai (Air Group) or warship in Japan. Mission History This Jake ditched off Fukiage. Wreckage Until 1992, remained in situ underwater. On October 15, 1992 recovered from the sea off Fukiage. The plane was largely intact, the right wing's leading edge is bent, likely from the ditching. The engine is missing some parts of the cowling and the forward portions of the canopy were missing. Display The Jake is displayed at Kaseda Peace Memorial (Bansei Tokkō Peace Museum) at the center of the memorial atop sand giving the plane the appearance of being on a sandy sea floor.
