The Kaseda Peace Memorial also known as the Bansei Tokkō Peace Museum 万世特攻平和祈念館 was opened in 1993 due to the efforts of Hichiro Naemura, a former flight instructor who established a memorial to the 201 airmen from Kaseda Airfield (Bansei) that died in kamikaze attacks at the end of the Pacific War. Also known as "Kaseda City Peace Memorial" or "Bansei Peace Memorial". This museum
and memorial are dedicated the "Special Attack Corps"
with displays, photographs and artifacts including wills, last
letters of pilots and aviation gear that operated from Kaseda Airfield (Bansei). The
memorial hall was established with a wish to "pass down the
story of kamikaze from generation for generation for thousands of
years, with prayers for peace."
