Wartime History Built by Mitsubishi. At the factory, painted with dark green upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces. True serial number unknown (three digits). Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 0 Observation Seaplane / F1M2 Pete manufacture number unknown (four digits). Wartime History Assigned to the 954 Kōkūtai (954 Air Group). Tail code 954-33. During late 1944 operated from Magarin Bay near San Jose on Mindoro Island until abandoned on the beach bordering Magarin Bay. Wreckage On December 15, 1944 captured by the U.S. Army when they landed at Magarin Bay. Afterwards, photographed with the main float sunk into the sand with damage sustained to the tail and wings.
