Mission History
On April 1, 1944 took off from USS Lexington (CV-16) on a strike against Woleai. When this aircraft failed to return it was declared Missing in Action (MIA).

Memorials
Spindler was officially declared dead the day of the mission. He is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery on the tablets of the missing.
