Aircraft History
Built by Goodyear Aircraft Corporation in Akron, Ohio as model V-166B. During 1944 delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as FG-1D Corsair bureau number 67087.

Postwar
This aircraft was selected for transfer to Central America as part of U.S. military aid. During the 1960s, given to El Salvador and assigned to the Fuerza Armada de El Salvador (FA de El Salvador, FAS) and was used as a spare airframe and for replacement parts.

Restoration
During 1988, this Corsair was purchased by Antique Aero based at Rialto Airport in Rialto, California and restored to flying condition.

Today, painted in the markings of a U.S. Navy F4U Corsair assigned to Fighter Squadron 17 (VF-17) "The Jolly Rogers" with their squadron motif painted on each side of the nose with fuselage number 8.

On January 9, 2017 registered with the FAA as FG1D Corsair registration N11Y with the owner listed as Aero Classics LLC in Los Angeles, CA as an experimental aircraft.

In early 2019, offered for sale by Platinum Fighter Sales for $2,500,000.00 USD asking price.
