Shrine at the tail of Yamamoto's G4M1 Betty 2656 crash site
In the background at the upper right is tail with "323", the left horizontal stabilizer is missing. The green paint on the upper surfaces is starting to show signs of weathering and the rudder fabric is missing, likely burned off in the crash or rotted away. The perspex in the tail turret panels likely broke off or fell out during the crash. Likely, this shrine was created on April 18, 1944 to mark the one year anniversary of the crash. The vegetation has begun to regrow at the crash site including banana trees, possibly planted by villagers.
