Aircraft History
Built by Kawanishi at Konan Plant in Kobe. At the factory, painted with green upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 2 Flying Boat / H8K2 Emily manufacture number unknown. Assigned to an unknown Kōkūtai (Air Group). Tail code 006 was painted in white.

Wartime History
This flying boat operated from Tanapag Seaplane Base on Saipan. Sometime before the American landing on June 15, 1944, this flying boat was destroyed by U.S. aircraft while parked on the seaplane ramp area and destroyed by fire.

Wreckage
The wreckage of this Emily was captured by American forces and photographed on July 8, 1944. The fuselage was destroyed by fire leaving both wings angled upward as they collapsed. The tail section with tail code "006" remained largely intact. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
