Constructor Number 6346. On December 24, 1941 assigned to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as A-28-LO Hudson serial number 41-23529. Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number BW667. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia as part of Defense Aid consignment on January 22, 1942. Wartime History On March 29, 1942 assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson A16-190 and reassembled by 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On May 11, 1942 assigned to No. 32 Squadron. No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On May 23, 1942 crashed into the sea off Beverley Island in the Northumberland Islands off Mackay at roughly Lat 21.30S Long 149.55E. When this aircraft failed to return the entire crew was declared Missing In Action (MIA). This Hudson was officially stricken off charge on July 24, 1942. Lost when aircraft crashed into sea off Beverley Islands of the Northumberland Group, located south-east of the city of Mackay roughly between the latitudes 21°S and 22°S on the 23/05/42; Crash site is 21.30S - 149.55E. Recovery of Remains The remains of Power were recovered after the crash. Memorials The entire crew was officially declared the day of the mission. The crew (with the exception of Power) are memorialized at the Sydney War Cemetery on the Sydney Memorial. Adams on panel 5. Bright and Chandler on panel 6.
