Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Constructors Number 6489. Assigned to the USAAF as RA-29 serial number 41-37000. Exported as part of defense aid. Assigned Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number FH199. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia as part of defense aid consignment. Wartime History On May 20, 1942 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson A16-239. Assigned to 2 Air Depot (2 AD) at Richmond Airfield and reassembled. On July 1, 1942 assigned to No. 6 Squadron. On August 30, 1942 assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD). On October 5, 1942 returned to No. 6 Squadron. On December 8, 1942 assigned to 5 Air Depot (5 AD) and returned to No. 6 Squadron on January 16, 1943. On January 17, 1943 parked at Turnbull Airfield near Milne Bay. Destroyed during the Japanese air raid at 10:10pm. This Hudson suffered shrapnel damage to wing and fuselage tanks and destroying starboard vertical stabilizer. On January 20, 1943 during another night bombing raid, this Hudson suffered a direct hit destroying it. Wreckage On January 21, 1943 assigned to 15 Repair Salvage Unit (15 RSU). On January 22, 1943 assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD) and officially stricken form charge on February 11, 1943.
