Hudson A16-36 tail fin donated to Australian War Memorial (AWM)

The fin of Hudson A16-36 has been donated by Robert Greinert to the Australian War Memorial (AWM), Canberra. Recovered from its original wartime crash site. The site was originaly discovered by John Douglas who showed the site to Robert in 2002. The only substantial relic worth recovering was the fin and due to its historical significance, it was donated to the AWM.  Approval for recovery, export and donation to AWM was given by the PNG National Museum and  supervised by Poppendetta Provincial Cultural Officer, Redmond Gasso.  The aircraft was flown by pilot William Allan Pedrina was a significant figure in the Buna action.
