Aircraft History Built by Nakajima. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 1 Fighter / Ki-43 Oscar manufacture number unknown. Wartime History Assigned to an unknown Sentai (Flying Regiment) in the Wewak area until crashed or was abandoned. Wreckage During the early 1970s, this Oscar was recovered by Roy Worcester. Display In the early 1970s displayed at Roy Worcester Historical Centre until the museum closed when Roy Worcester passed away. Sometime afterwards, the fuselage was transported to the PNG War Museum and displayed in their outdoor yard until late 2000 or early 2001. Export Between late 2000 to early 2001 this aircraft was exported by '75 Squadron' to Melbourne inside another container of salvaged aircraft from Finschafen. The location of this aircraft is unknown, presumed to be stored outdoors on the property of Bruno Carnovale and possibly offered for sale on Ebay on several occasions. Contribute
