Aircraft History
Built by Mitsubishi at the Oe-machi plant during late November 1943. At the factory painted overall gray. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 100 Command Reconnaissance Aircraft Shinshitei / Ki-46-II Dinah manufacture number 2273.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 70th Dokuritsu Dai Shijugo Chutai (70th Independent Command Squadron). The tail a reversed "S" in white representing a river, the motif of the squadron.

Mission History
On August 17, 1943 took off piloted by Lt. Saburo Shinohara on a reconnaissance mission over Darwin. This aircraft was shot down and crashed onto the north of Bathurst Island.

Wreckage
Afterwards, a team from Allied intelligence located the crash site on Bathurst Island. The team located manufacture number 2273 and the crash was assigned SWPA Technical Reference code NW 1409.
