Aircraft History Built by Manshūkoku Hikōki Seizo K.K. (Mansyu) with with a Hitachi Ha.13a-III radial engine. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Army Type 2 Advanced Trainer / Ki-79b manufacture number unknown. Wartime History This K-79 operated in Netherlands East Indies (NEI). At the end of the Pacific War, acquired by the Dutch then Indonesian forces and used during the Indonesian National Revolution (Indonesian War of Independence). In Indonesian service the plane was known as Nishikoren. Display This Ki-79 is displayed at the Museum Abri Satriamandala (Armed Forces Museum in South Jakarta) outdoors in a covered pavilion elevated off the ground atop concrete pedestals. This plane is painted in Indonesian Air Force (IAF) markings. Later, moved to Museum Dirgantara Mandala Yogyakarta Indonesia (Indonesian Air Force Museum) and displayed indoors. Contribute
