Aircraft History
Built by Stinson. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as L-5 Sentinel serial number 42-98066. At the factory, painted with olive drab upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces. Disassembled and shipped overseas to New Guinea and reassembled.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group (71st TRG), 25th Liaison Squadron "Guinea Short Lines". No known nickname. Likely, painted with the squadron's motif, the silhouette of a kangaroo with the words "Guinea Short Lines". The tail was painted white excluding a rectangular area with the olive drab and yellow serial number 298060 (shortened version of 42-98060). This aircraft performed liaison missions over New Guinea.
