Aircraft History Built by Stinson. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as L-5 Sentinel serial number 42-98072. Disassembled and shipped overseas to New Guinea and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 54th Troop Carrier Wing (54th TCW). No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On June 16, 1944 took off by an unidentified pilot and crashed roughly 60 miles from Bena Bena. Wreckage It is unknown if this aircraft was salvaged afterwards.
