Aircraft History Built by Kawanishi at Naruo between November 12, 1944–November 18, 1944. At the factory painted with dark green upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as N1K1-J Model 11 Shiden (George) manufacture number 5511. Wartime History Assigned to the 201 Kōkūtai (201 Air Group) with tail code 201-53 in yellow. During late 1944 until January 1945 George operated from Clark Field and possibly Mabalacat East. By late January 1945 dispersed near a tree line at Clark Field. Wartime History On January 30, 1945 captured intact by the U.S. Army at Clark Field. Afterwards, the fuselage was marked with chalk: "KEEP OFF off limits to all personnel by orders of CG AAF" and in Tagalog kapampangan dialect "Bawal la ring tung tatagin kanining airoplaneo by American Army". Afterwards, evaluated repaired by Technical Air Intelligence Unit–South West Pacific Area (TAIU-SWPA) at Clark Field. Assigned tail number S7, but only 7 was applied. Afterwards, this Shiden was flight tested at Clark Field. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
