Aircraft History Built by the 1st Naval Air Technical Arsenal at Yokosuka. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as MXY7-K1 Model 43B K-1 Ohka (Baka) manufacture number. This Ohka was a trainer variant painted in orange for high visibility and use for practice flights with a landing skid and flaps without a warhead or rocket motors with water used as ballast for training before flying the Model 11 Ohka on a suicide mission. Wartime History After the surrender of Japan, captured by the American occupation forces and shipped to the United States for technical evaluation. Display This Ohka is display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (USAF Museum) in the World War II gallery. The exterior has stenciled manufacture number 1018. References The manufacture number of this Ohka is listed as 1018. It is unclear if this is the actual number or simply used in the restoration.
