Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank during late December 1943 as the thirteenth P-38J-15 built. Constructors Number 2825. At the factory, completed with an unpainted aluminum finish with olive drab on the upper nose and inner sides of the engine nacelles for anti-glare. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-38J-15-LO Lightning serial number 42-103991. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 475th Fighter Group (475th FG) "Satan's Angels", 431st Fighter Squadron (431st FS) "Hades". No known nickname, nose art or markings. Assigned a squadron number in the range of 110–139. Assigned to pilot 1st Lt. Richard E. Roark. Mission History Took off and crash landed at Nadzab Airfield No. 3. Officially, during 1945 officially condemened accident (CON ACC).
