Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank in late December 1943 as the eighteenth P-38J-15 built. Constructors Number 2830. This aircraft had an aluminum finish. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-38J-15-LO Lightning serial number 42-103996. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 475th Fighter Group (475th FG) "Satan's Angels", 431st Fighter Squadron (431st FS) "Possum". No known nickname, nose art or markings. Assigned a squadron number in the range of 110–139. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
