1st Lt Lee C. Haigler of Austin, TX earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) at Port Moresby in New Guinea
On November 13, 1943 pilot P-38H 42-66532 and went Missing In Action (MIA). His last contact was by radio when he reported his position to be over the sea roughly 40 miles northeast of Buna.
