American with P-38H "Screamin' Kid" 42-66682 parked at an airfield in New Guinea
Nicknamed "Screamin' Kid" in block letters with a shadow plus the nose art of a cartoon figure wearing a suit of armor with the visor raised and holding a lance on its shoulder. Visible on the nose is constructors number "193" [1193] with squadron number 161 in white. Below the left side of the cockpit was a scoreboard with eight Japanese rising sun flags (2x4) indicating aerial victory claims. Below is "Pilot Capt. John S. Loisel" and "Crew Chief T/Sgt..." and below is the U.S. Army Air Force serial number stencil. In the distance is another parked P-38 Lightning and a truck or jeep. Beyond are trees and the horizon.
