Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-38H-5-LO Lightning serial number 42-66902. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled.
Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 475th Fighter Group, 431st Fighter Squadron. Assigned an unknown three digit squadron number in the range of 110-139 painted in red. No known nose art or nickname. Assigned to pilot Wenige. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
