P-38G "Ruff Stuff" 43-2212 force landed at Owi Airfield
The left engine is feathered and the right engine is bent backwards from the landing. The left side of the nose has squadron letter "X" and the nickname "Ruff Stuff" named by former pilot Norbert C. Ruff. Below the cockpit are eight Japanese flags (four rows of two flags) indicating aerial victory claims including four by Ruff and 2 by Paul C. Murphey, Jr. This P-38 was painted with green propeller spinners with a white line at the rear. The tip of the tails were green with a thin white line at the lower edge.
