P-38G "Ruff Stuff" 43-2212 parked at 3 Mile Drome (Kila) near Port Moresby
The left side of the nose has squadron letter "X" with the nickname "Ruff Stuff" named by pilot Norbert C. Ruff. This P-38 was painted with green propeller spinners with a white line at the rear. The tip of the tails were green with a thin white line at the lower edge.
