Last photograph of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Squadron Leader John F. Jackson at 7 Mile Drome near Port Moresby
Jackson is wearing flight gear including a life vest and a throat microphone. His right hand index finger is bandaged after the fingertip was severed by shrapnel on April 24, 1942. This was the last photograph taken of him before he was Killed In Action (KIA) on April 28, 1942 piloting P-40E Kittyhawk A29-8 and crashed Mount Lawes.
