Pilot FLGOFF Henry D. Summons, 400106 (MIA / KIA) Kew, VIC MIA October 25, 1944 Aircraft History Built by Curtis in Buffalo, New York. Assigned U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-40N-25-CU Warhawk serial number 43-24309. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia. Wartime History During May 1944 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Kittyhawk A29-821. Reassembled by 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On June 19, 1944 assigned to No. 77 Squadron. Mission History On October 25, 1944 took off from Noemfoor Island piloted by FLGOFF Henry D. Summons on a bombing mission over Manokwari. Last seen entering cloud in the target area and failed to return. When this plane failed to return it was officially listed as Missing In Action (MIA). Search Postwar searches in the area by RAAF Searcher Team led by S/L Keith Rundle and Flight Lieutenant O'Shea found no information about the fate of this pilot.
