Aircraft History Built by Republic. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and reassembled. Wartime Hstory Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 58th Fighter Group (58th FG), 69th Fighter Squadron (69th FS). Assigned to 2nd Lt. Arthur F. Cain, Jr. who nicknamed the aircraft "Bath, Maine - It's A Long Way off Doc!" after his hometown of Bath, Maine. Ultimate fate unknown, not lost during combat or accident.
