Captain Edward "Ed" H. Mikes, Jr. after rescue aboard USS Aspro (SS-309)
On August 3, 1945 bailed out of P-51D "Mrs. Beak" 44-72561 over Sagami Bay off Japan and was rescued. In the background is the conning tower and periscope of USS Aspro (SS-309).
