Aircraft History Built by Lockheed in Burbank. Lockheed Constructors Number 080-1135. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-80A-1-LO Shooting Star serial number 44-85112. Assigned to pilot Jay T. Robbins. Nicknamed "Jandina V" in black on the left side of the nose as the fifth aircraft assigned to him with that nickname, an abbreviation of his name "Jay" and his wife's nickname "Ina" joined together. Fuselage code PN-112 (last three digits of the serial number). Between the fuselage code and U.S. star and bar insignia was a large "V". Postwar On September 18, 1947 became part of the U.S. Air Force (USAF). On June 11, 1948 redesignated F-80-1-LO Shooting Star. Upgraded to F-80C-11-LO. During 1953 assigned to the Iowa Air National Guard, 174th Fighter Squadron (174th FS). Ultimate fate unknown kikely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
