Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated at San Diego as Model 32. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24J-125-CO Liberator 42-110013.

Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PB4Y-1 Liberator bureau number 32277.

Wartime History
Assigned to Patrol Bombing Squadron 101 (VPB-101). No known nickname, nose art or squadron number. Possibly, nicknamed “Big Op”.

Mission History
On October 23, 1944 took off from Morotai Island piloted by Lt. Harold H. Lewis Jr. on a patrol mission over "sector one". During the patrol, attacked by enemy fighters. When this bomber failed to return the entire entire crew was officially declared Missing In Action (MIA).

Memorials
The entire crew was officially declared October 24, 1945. The entire crew is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery on the tablets of the missing.

Lewis earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) with Gold Star, Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Gonzalez earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

McFarlane earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Taylor earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Williamson earned the Purple Heart, posthumously.

Boudreau earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Cole earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Davis earned the Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously.

Duncan earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously. He also has a memorial marker at Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery in Whiteville, NC.

Furbush earned the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), Air Medal and Purple Heart, posthumously. He also has a memorial marker at Palmyra Village Cemetery in Palmyra, ME.
