USA: United Nations Charter is ratified.

13th AF: B-24L Liberator 44-49845 is flown to Kingman Airfield and placed into storage.

5th AF: Prisoner Of War (POW) 1st Lt. William L. Hasty pilot P-38J 42-104359 crashed June 5, 1944 is liberated from Tokyo POW Camp (Shinjuku).

USN: USS Sangamon (CVL-26) is decommissioned.

Rabaul: Chinese Nationalist Captain Nu Kun dies at Rabaul.
