William L. Hasty pilot P-38J 42-104359 crashed June 5, 1944 is liberated from Tokyo POW Camp (Shinjuku). USN: USS Sangamon (CVL-26) is decommissioned. Rabaul: Chinese Nationalist Captain Nu Kun dies at Rabaul.
